The Versa-Dock™ is a versatile bioreactor docking system, capable of working with conventional stainless steel or single-use bioreactors - or both…interchangeably. The Versa-Dock affords bioprocess operations the flexibility to adapt to various processes, in alternate reactor types. With the demands placed on process development and small volume production operations, staying flexible is a competitive advantage. The Versa-Dock, with its ability to operate different bioreactors types, is one way to keep your business competitive.
The Versa-Dock's versatility derives from its modular design - comprised of three core elements: a Command Module, powered by Rockwell Automation; a Pump Module, for handling liquid additions; and a Piping Module, for process piping support. These core modules may be used together or in various combinations with a customer-supplied bioreactor, to the required system functionality. For turnkey equipment needs, Biozeen will deliver the entire system, including the bioreactor. The Versa-Dock's bus-based instrumentation and controls include the typical subsystems (temperature, agitation, pH, DO, Feeds) for cell culture and microbial fermentation.
For new capital equipment purchases, the Versa-Dock may be used initially with either the conventional stainless steel or single-use bioreactor. As needs change, the ability to incorporate the alternate bioreactor type is already built in. And, for retrofit or upgrade capital projects, where some existing customer equipment already exists or may be salvageable, the Versa-Dock's product platform allows for substantial cost savings.
